Same problem with thumping noise in GE over the range Microwave.  Visual inspection revealed nothing but running my finger around track that ring rides on located a small bump which blended perfectly with the bottom track.  Cleaned the track, wheels and underside of glass turntable.  Voila’ problem solved.
